In the past, Garbutt State School has accommodated many more students than it does today, therefore students enjoy the benefits of larger classroom spaces. Many of these rooms have been refurbished in recent years. Newer buildings include prep and the library.
The library houses a computer lab which is able to cater for whole class groups. All rooms have interactive whiteboards and data projectors.
Students can take advantage of the breakfast program which runs every day and tuckshop on one day per week.
Students can participate in the homework program on designated days, however regular out of school hours care is provided by other groups off-site.
