Teachers at Garbutt use regular and ongoing assessment and data collection to track student progress. This allows them to plan their units of work effectively and cater to each student’s individual needs through differentiated lessons.
Specialist Lessons
All students attend a weekly PE lesson. Students also participate in a variety of sporting events throughout the year, including athletics and swimming. Upon enrolment students are assigned to one of three sports houses, Sabre, Mirage or Phantom.
LOTE
Students in Year 5/6 take part in Japanese lessons via distance education in conjunction with the classroom teacher.
